Why women choose ZHAR

  • Small group experience

ZHAR trips are intentionally limited to only 10 participants to create a relaxed and personal atmosphere where everyone feels included.

  • Local connection

With family roots in Zanzibar and years of experience visiting the island, ZHAR offers access to places, people and moments you wouldn’t easily discover on your own.

  • A balance between structure and freedom

While key experiences are planned, there is also space for spontaneous moments, beach days and exploring the island together.

  • Hosted throughout the entire journey

Azhar will be present during the entire trip, helping with language, local connections and making sure everyone feels safe and comfortable.

planning & support

Once the group is confirmed, participants will receive guidance and support to prepare for the trip.

This includes help with:

• booking flights

• visa applications

• travel preparation

• recommended vaccinations and health advice

• general questions before departure

A private WhatsApp group will be created once all participants are confirmed, where everyone can connect and prepare for the trip together.

  • At ZHAR, we want you to experience Zanzibar like a local — not just as a tourist. That’s why lunch and dinner aren’t included.

The trip is designed to give you a mix of experiences and flavors: some days you might enjoy a local street food snack, other days a burger or resort meal — just like the island itself, which blends different cultures and tastes.

    You’ll have the chance to:

        •    Resort / tourist-friendly meals – typically 150–200+ DKK per meal

        •    Semi-local dishes – simple meals like rice with sauce, ~20–30,000 Tsh (~60–90 DKK)

        •    Local street food – authentic flavors, ~10,000 Tsh (~30 DKK)

        •    Optional self-cooking – shop locally and cook together, which is a fun, social way to spend time with the group

This approach gives you freedom, flexibility, and a more authentic experience. We’ll also have polls and open discussions during the trip so the group can decide what to eat each day!

  • While many experiences are already included in the trip, there will also be optional activities, restaurants and cafés you may want to explore during free time.

Compared to many destinations, Zanzibar is generally very affordable, and we’re always happy to recommend great spots.
