1.1 Booking & Confirmation

Participation in a ZHAR trip is confirmed once a participant has been selected and has completed the booking by paying the required deposit. Selected participants will receive a payment link by email to secure their place. Spaces are limited to ensure an intimate group experience.

1.2 Deposit & Payment

A deposit of 3,500 DKK is required to secure a place on the trip. The deposit is non-refundable, in accordance with §18, stk. 2, nr. 1 of the Danish Package Travel Act, except where otherwise required under applicable package travel regulations. It secures your place and allows planning and reservations to begin.

The remaining balance must be paid within the timeframe communicated after booking confirmation (usually 60 days before departure). Participants may also choose to pay the full amount upfront if they wish. Failure to complete payment within the specified time may result in the place being offered to another applicant.

Note on Payments: Payments are made to ZHAR via bank transfer to the company’s Danish account. All payments are handled by ZHAR as a registered Danish travel provider. The money goes directly to support the trip, including partnerships with trusted local experts and family members who have long-standing experience in the tourism industry (e.g., Abdalla Abeid Spice Farm with 50+ years of experience).

1.3 Cancellation by Participant

The deposit is non-refundable, in accordance with §18, stk. 2, nr. 1 of the Danish Package Travel Act.

If a participant cancels their trip:

• More than 60 days before departure: 80% refund of any payments made (excluding deposit)

• 30–60 days before departure: 50% refund (excluding deposit)

• Less than 30 days before departure: no refund

If the remaining balance has not yet been paid at the time of cancellation, no further payment is required.

If ZHAR cancels the trip, participants will be entitled to a refund in accordance with applicable package travel regulations.

We strongly recommend that all customers take out comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance, which may cover situations where refunds are not available from ZHAR.

1.4 Changes to the Program

While the main experiences are planned in advance, the itinerary may occasionally be adjusted due to:

• Weather conditions

• Tides

• Local circumstances

• Availability of activities

ZHAR will always aim to provide an equally valuable experience if adjustments are required.

1.5 Travel Requirements

Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet all travel requirements, including:

• Valid passport

• Visa for Tanzania

• Any necessary vaccinations

• Adequate travel and cancellation insurance

Participants must ensure that they are covered for both travel and cancellation risks. Guidance will be provided to assist participants with these preparations.

1.6 Flights & Transportation

Flights to Zanzibar are not included in the trip price. Participants will receive guidance on recommended flight options once the group is confirmed. Airport pickup and transportation to the villa will be arranged upon arrival.

1.7 Rejsegarantifonden

ZHAR is registered with the Rejsegarantifonden (Danish Travel Guarantee Fund), reg. no. 3829. All participants booking a trip with ZHAR are automatically covered by the fund, which provides financial protection in the event of ZHAR’s insolvency, including refund of payments and repatriation where applicable.

1.8 Health & Personal Responsibility

Participants are responsible for their own health and wellbeing during the trip. Any medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements should be communicated prior to departure. Participants are expected to respect local culture, the accommodation, and fellow travelers.

1.9 Liability

ZHAR organizes and facilitates travel experiences and works with local partners and service providers.

ZHAR cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to flight delays, cancellations, or lost luggage.

Participants acknowledge that travel involves a certain level of personal risk.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion is not permitted under applicable law.

1.10 Minimum Age

Participants must normally be 18 years or older to join a ZHAR trip unless otherwise agreed.
